Reef Octopus Classic 100 HOB Protein Skimmer
The Classic 100-HOB is a proverbial favorite amongst hang-on back skimmer users capable of filtering aquariums up to 105 gallons. The Classic 100-HOB features an easy to install and operate design in which the pump is mounted inside the aquarium. To install, simply place the skimmer on the back of the aquarium, mount the pump in place, adjust the intake strainer and it is ready to skim. The Reef Octopus Classic 1000-HOB is constructed of high-quality acrylic and equipped with the new highly efficient Aquatrance pinwheel pump that produces an ideal mix of water and air for optimal waste removal.

Cyanobacteria Affected
Unfortunately, a Cyanobacteria outbreak may have adversely affected this HOB protein skimmer more that Chemiclean treatments! It appears that every time I plug in the skimmer it OVERFLOWS the left chamber. This might be from red slime algae clogging the pump intake and making it unusable.

Best HOB ever IMO
I bought one of these back in 2016 for my girlfriend on her 40 Breeder , and I have to say this skimmer kicks some serious butt. The tank is overstocked with corals from growth and 7 fish. It definitely pulls the crud out and then some. So here I am ordering another one for my 40 Breeder i'm starting.

Great HOB Skimmer
I had multiple people suggest this skimmer for my 55g reef tank. Since space was an issue, I needed a HOB. I am not disappointed in this purchase one bit! It is very quiet, small, and get a lot of junk out of my tank. I could see clearer water almost immediately. Also, Aquacave got it delivered to me in record time!
