One BIG skimmer!
Putting this together is pretty straightforward, the flexible white breather tube does not attach to anything on the tube side, but it does need to be slid inside the flow tube. I found it's easier to remove the white cap and slide the breather line up into the tube BEFORE attaching it to the pump side. Besides that you just remove the 4 base nuts and position the pump so the front lines up with the hole, remove the nut on the pump and position the diffuser plate so the area without air holes is over the pump attachment threads and secure them both. Line up the power cord and place the body over the base, attach the flow tube valve piece and then finally attach the air tube to the pump connector and its ready to go! This is a big skimmer, small footprint but wide and tall, huge collection cup but no drain line. It's nice and quiet and mine was producing skimmate on a new tank after 4 days running on the highest setting. Unlike other skimmers I have used it did not go crazy and overflow for days but the tank only has water and substrate during the break in period.

Impressive even under moderate-heavy load
Out of all the skimmers I've owned, including older model Reef Octopus, this is by far the best. It is easy to set up, quick to break in, and easy to dial in. The amount and thickness of skimmate is impressive.

Greatest Skimmer brand on the market
I bought my first high end skimmer. The Reef Octopus 110ss is a must for your aquarium. I have had lower end skimmers such as Eshopps. It has only been a week and my fish look more energetic, and my corals look great and have better color. Top notch in my book. Don't go cheap trust me. Reef Octopus is the way to go.
