Tunze Care Magnet Long, up to 1/2" Glass
Revolutionary new magnet cleaner! Only the blades contact the panes of glass or acrylic so all the cleaning power is transferred to the blades. This unique design also prevents debris and gravel from being captured and scratching the panes.
Care Magnet Long
- Dimensions - 3.39" x 5.51"
- Glass Thickness - 3/8" to 1/2"
- Includes stainless steel blade and two plastic replacement blades
The Tunze Care Magnet Long With Care Booster (0222.015) consists of an ergonomic handle and special plastic blades made of wear-resistant high performance plastic. The patented slim Care Magnet is significantly more compact than conventional algae magnets with a large cleaning surface; it is unobtrusive and therefore able to remain within the aquarium without disrupting the overall scenery. With the Care Magnet there is a 3 mm gap between the magnet and the glass so it will not scratch the inside of the aquarium (as sand can not be trapped between the magnet and the glass).

Good at Hard Stuff
More difficult to use than other magnet cleaners mainly due to the size. While that is the case, this will clean stuff that other magnet cleaners will not. Magnet is very strong and care should be taken.

Pretty Good
Mine makes a screeching sound when I drag it across my front glass, but not the sides so not sure if that's a magnet problem or an unrelated problem but the scraper actually works really well and it's nice and large so I can clean the tank quickly. I agree that the inner magnet not touching glass is the biggest selling feature as it means that sand cannot get trapped and scratch the glass. Which is really what makes this magnet worth the price.

Great item
I like that I can clean the glass and not have to worry as much about sand getting stuck and scratching. Before it was hard to get down by the sand line, but now it is not an issue.

Great Design; Just Wish it Floated
Using this on my 60g cube and I do love the shape and interchangeable plastic blades! I also love that the actual magnet doesn't make contact with the glass, so it keeps sand from getting caught against the glass and scratching it and also means that the plastic blades make firm contact with the glass. This is kind of a weird bonus feature, but I really like the curved shape of the blade, as it allows me to level out my sand-bed along the glass after my wavemaker makes little drifts with the current.

The only change I wish they would make is the ability for the inner magnet to float! It's fairly heavy and on my tank (3/8" glass) if you aren't careful when transitioning past a corner, the inner magnet will just drop onto the sand. I think a big part of this is the fact that the inner magnet doesn't completely make contact with the glass, so the magnetic force is not as strong, especially when separating the two magnets to turn a corner.

Overall, though, I think it's a great magnet from a trusted brand at a great price!
