Simplicity 240 DC Protein Skimmer with DC Pump

It took about a week to break in as my tank is only 3 months old with a light load. Once it did it was skimming some nasty stuff in the collection cup. When you first set it up don’t add anything to your tank like dechlorinator. This will prolong the break in period. Be patient and it will start working as expected.

Very nice skimmer. Quite and stable. Would definitely recommend especially for this price.

If I told you how quiet this thing is you wouldn’t believe me. Been three days and foam going into cup at a good rate. Time will tell but so far so good. I love how easy this will be to clean.

The Simplicity 240DC is hands down one of the best skimmers I have owned. skimming within hours. Well Built , No Complaints

This skimmer matches or outperforms other more expensive skimmers in the same category. The DC pump is great and the 10 minute feed mode is very useful for quick cleaning without pulling plugs. I found it very compact and easy to fit in my crowded sump. Just buy it and dont look back.

The skimmer has great build quality and feels sturdy. The pump seems to be of high quality and the variable power allows further adjustment when used in a deeper sump which was a big plus for me. I love the compact footprint while still being able to handle a large system. After running the skimmer in a vinegar solution for an hour mine was skimming dark skimmate in a day. I feel there is no contest for value since this skimmer is so similar in quality and performance to many more expensive brands.

I took a chance and bought this skimmer over a year ago without much knowledge about it. I wanted to try a D.C. Powered pump skimmer. I have to say that I haven't been disappointed. The build quality is top notch, the pump is almost silent, and this thing pulls some serious air into it almost silently. I have been in the hobby for 15 years and had a lot of different skimmers over the years. This one sits #1 on my list of them. Can't recommend it enough.
