I have drilled holes before without this and it is difficult to start the hole without the bit skipping around the glass. Use this and it will make it much easier.

A must have for drilling the side of a tank
As the title says, it's indispensable for drilling the back or sides of an aquarium. Just remember to use LOTS of water when you're drilling a tank so your bit lasta and you don't break the pane you're drilling.
