Why It’s Important
Potassium supports vibrant coloration in SPS corals and plays a role in invertebrate molting and mucous production. Low potassium levels lead to pale coloration—especially pink, purple, and blue tones in Acropora and Montipora. Potassium aids in crustacean molting and supports mucus production in snails and corals.
