Advantages of Synchronous Motors by Sicce Synchronous motors have the following advantages over non-synchronous motors:
- Speed is independent of the load, providing an adequate field current is applied.
- Accurate control in speed and position using open loop controls is possible.
Their power factor can be adjusted to unity by using a proper field current relative to the load.
A capacitive power factor, (current phase leads voltage phase), can be obtained by increasing this current slightly, which can help achieve a better power factor correction.

Great pump quiet
Never had a problem with this pump only up keep I have had to do was cleaning it. It’s quiet and I like quiet. Nothing to complain about when it comes to this pump.

Super Quiet
This pump will move the water from your sump/refugium to your display tank and it os super quiet. You could be in the room with everything off and you stoll won't hear this pump working.<br>Only bad thing about this pump are the suction cup feet. They will hold onto what you are attaching it too (bottom of the tank). But the notches on the side of the pump where the rubber feet are could jave been designed better. Will buy another pump for other tank soon. <br>It is a really quiet pump .........

Good pump
I had a Sicce Syncra 2.0 for a little over a year before replacing it with a DC pump. I still use it for water changes. It is a quiet pump and works well. The long legs are a little awkward and come off easily. It can make it difficult to get situated in the sump. Once it is in place it just keeps going and going. Can't go wrong with this pump.

A quiet operation is mandnatory is a room such as this.<br>And Sicce's 2.0 pumps operation is 2nd to none , to me.<br><br>I read reviews on this product to make my decision. And Aquacave provided one of the best prices for it with shipping costs added.<br>So glad I went with Aquacave on this deal !!!!<br>The product arrived suprisingly quick (just days after the order was placed !) and was packaged nicely & was exactly as expected.<br><br>Will definitly be dealing with Aquacave again, and recommend them to anybody product shopping around.

Great pump
I bought this pump to feed my reef octopus biochurn 150R biopellet reactor . Its doing a great job and i had to dial it back because it really pumps alot of water !! It is well made and was very easy to adapt to my reactor ! Also just as the other reviews stated its so quiet you cant hear it run ! I have been in the hobby for 38 years and i highly recommend this product ! Jeff in wisconsin

silent pump? oh yes, it is crazy quiet! my wife has super sensitive hearing and gets annoyed by everything, so i was hesitent to get a tank up and running, but after she listening closely she was very pleased. plugged it in, worked right away, super quiet and also easy to adjust the volume of water being pumped out which is a great option on small system to fine tune exactly what your're looking for. feeling quite satisfied with my purchase.

The most silent pump I have ever owned!! GET IT!
Wow is the only way I can express such an amazing pump! I have never found such a awesome pump before and I've used a bunch of different brands. I have a reef tank in my bedroom and this is what I needed to keep me from wearing ear plugs. That's saying a lot because I have above average hearing according to my doctor and I'm a light sleeper. This pump truthfully lives up to its name of being silent! I was debating between this pump and the Eheim brand pumps, but Ive heard that even Eheims make a humming sound. I made the right choice buying this pump and Aquacave has great customer service. Nano-reef.com members get this pump you wont regret it!! (Updated on 3/21/2010.)
