Advantages of Synchronous Motors by Sicce Synchronous motors have the following advantages over non-synchronous motors:
- Speed is independent of the load, providing an adequate field current is applied.
- Accurate control in speed and position using open loop controls is possible.
Their power factor can be adjusted to unity by using a proper field current relative to the load.
A capacitive power factor, (current phase leads voltage phase), can be obtained by increasing this current slightly, which can help achieve a better power factor correction.

Strong and quiet!
I am using this to run my UV filter and it's great so far. It's very quiet.

damn good pump
ok I got this for non fish tank use. I make a metal polish that uses solvents and can wear down stainless steel paddles to half their size. this pump handles this with ease and the filling heads don't get clogged. now I been using little giant pumps to handle my stuff for 5 years. well little giant pump is no longer getting my business. give me this pump any day. so if you want a dependable pump which you can get parts for this is it. 5 stars easy. happiness on my part 5 stars.

Good pump
I've only had it in service for 2 weeks, but so far it has been a good pump. Using it for our UV sterilizer and carbon filter. It is probably running about 70 GPH.
