Reef Octopus Bio Churn 120INT Media Reactor

The Reef Octopus in-sump BioChurn Reactors come with an Aquatrance pump that feeds the reactor as well as drives the reactor’s churn wheel. These models are ideal for those that want a simple reactor that is easy to use and maintain. The cascading design allow for greater surface area for bacteria to colonize while the delicate churn motion of the pellets allow for extended contact time between the nutrient rich aquarium water and the biopellet media.

    Easily can handle 700ml

Posted by Sonny on Mar 9th 2016

Was surprised as the pump is so powerful had to add some tubing to slow the flow. Easily can spin 700ml. Have 1000ml and still had to slow the flow of the mp. Pump is apparently very strong but silent. Great design and have tried a few designs and they all had some limit. This is very well thought out.

    Incredible churn

I had gotten the new All-in-One biopellets and because of their size they just would not tumble properly in the other creator I had, so I figured what the heck I'll try the Reef Octopus since it was priced well. I have to say if you use the newer larger sized biopellets this reactor is perfect as it really "churns" the pellets as the manufacturers recommend! This has a nice simple design and fit in my sump with no problem.
