Red Sea Reefer Internal Protein Skimmers are designed with the hobbyist needs in mind. From quiet rubber feet, a robust air silencer, and not to mention the FoamView window with built a built-in manual neck cleaner, all which are focused towards easier maintenance along with a quieter reef tank. Starting at the top, Red Sea's Reefer Skimmers now include a built-in neck cleaner that can be manually turned to remove any build-up from the walls of the neck, while the integrated FoamView window lets you see how the foam is collecting in the neck. Along with the included cup-drain tube, emptying the collection cup is only requires a turn of a valve, and is also super easy to connect to an external waste collector. Moving down, every Red Sea Reefer Skimmer includes a Sicce PSK pump for enhanced performance and reliability that pushes a balanced amount of air and water through the hydrodynamically efficient bubble diffuser setting them up for a turbulent free ride into the collection cup.

Good skimmer
After a quick break-in period was producing a good skim. Great price point and is loaded with lots of features found in more expensive models. Easy to assemble.

great skimmer
I bought this skimmer because I upgraded my tank to a bigger one and my old skimmer wasn't sufficient. I installed it according to the manual and it was pulling crazy skimate within the first 10hrs. it runs completely silent and produces massive bubbles. red sea outdid themselves with this skimmer keep up the great work.

Works like a charm
I needed to replace our older Octopus external protein skimmer for our 210 gallon aquarium due to a crack/ leak in the housing. I did a lot of research before deciding on the Red Sea Reefer 300 Protein Skimmer. This unit is very easy to set up and use. It takes a couple of days to get the skimate dialed in but after that it's mostly hands off. I did put the skimmer on an acrylic stand in the sump because of the depth of our sump. The lid with the cleaning bar for the cup is a great addition and makes cleaning the unit much, much easier. I am 100% satisfied with the ease of use of this skimmer!!!
