Highly recommended
I installed mine on the main drain in a Fiji Cube overflow box (M) to reduce gurgling noises. Worked instantly and did not have to adjust water level.

I bought this for the emergency drain on my Red Sea Reefer because even when I adjusted the flow for silence sometimes the waves from my gyre would make noise. I put this on the pipe and within a few minutes it settled down and went to work and I have not heard a sound from my drain since. I know I have a metric standpipe and the 1" size is larger but it still works!
