John Guest 1/4" x 7/16" UNS Thread Faucet Connector
1/4OD by 7/16-24 UNS faucet connector pushfit plastic fitting for the connection of plastic or copper tube. NSF 51 and NSF 61 listed. Designed, manufactured and assembled in the UK by John Guest Speedfit. Connectors use a grip then seal collet arrangement. Simply push the fitting fully onto the tube. Should the need arise to demount the connection push the collet towards the body of the fitting and pull the tube to release. The fitting ensures an easier working environment in confined spaces and removes the need for tools (no torches, crimpers or glues). 12 month guarantee against any defect in material or manufacture.
How to make a connection:
* Cut tube square
It is essential that the outside diameter be free of score marks and that burrs and sharp edges be removed before inserting into fitting. For soft or thin walled plastic tubing we recommend the use of a tube insert.
* Insert tube
Fitting grips before it seals. Ensure tube is pushed in to the tube stop.
* Push up to tube stop
Push the tube into the fitting, to the tube stop. The collet (gripper) has stainless steel teeth which hold the tube firmly in position while the "O" ring provides a permanent leak proof seal.
* Pull to check secure
Pull on the tube to check it is secure. It is good practice to test the system prior to leaving site and/or before use.
Disconnecting:
Push in Collet and remove tube
To disconnect, ensure the system is depressurized before removing fitting. Push in Collete squarely against face of fitting. With the Collete held in this position, the tube can be removed. The fitting can then be re-used.
