Great looking Stand, Bad storage and construction quality

Posted by Kishan on Mar 8th 2020

So the reason I bought this stand was because it’s the only stand in my opinion that looks great with a 10G Innovative marine tank. I originally wanted a white one but couldn’t find it anywhere so I caved and bought the black.

First thing to note the stand isn’t a satin black or even matte, it’s a gloss black which threw me off when I first got it. It has some type of clear coat.

On the note of the clear coat, who ever applied it at the factory did a terrible job. There are spots where the clear coat is almost opaque and it’s not even in an area you don’t see it’s on the upper side panel.

Another issue is the construction quality, the holes they drilled were to small so I had to drill my own. The panels are made from mdf so you have to be careful because you can strip out the hole. But this is a given for any mass produced stand like this so whatever.

My biggest issue is that the stand came with a big crack in the back panel. Like it looks like someone hit it with a hammer. Super disappointed but at this point I need a stand and just had to make it work.

Finally the stand came filthy there was dust and crap all over it, it took me a solid hour to clean each panel. It’s like they stored these in mud or something. Once I built it clean up was also a big mess due to this same dust.

Over all it’s a great looking stand but terrible construction execution, terrible packaging and terrible attention to detail.

I do not recommend spending 150 dollars on this stand you are better off getting something from ikea and I bet it would be just as strong as this flimsy stand.
