Corrosion-resistant, fast heating titanium tube is engulfed with well fitted heater guard to ensure the safety of one's aquatic inhabitants and surrounding equipment. Maintains Water Temperature within +/-2º F of the setting value. Memory Chip to restore previous settings. Fused technology to create a precision digital control that maintains water temperatures at a constant level. In case of a power failure, heaters are equipped with memory to bring you tank back to it's original settings without any unfortunate mishaps upon power return.

Finnex HMX 500W heater
Working as expected. I like the digital display. When doing water changes via my sump filter, I can keep water temps spot on.

Easy to set and use
This is a very easy to set and use heater. The controls are on the outside where its dry and the digital readout makes for very easy setting and reading of temp. The only thing I wish is that there could be a calibration feature or a way to show set temp and actual tank temp because the readout is not necessarily the actual tank temp. But thats why you should also be using a thermometer in conjunction with it. Ive been running two of the 500's on a 300 gallon with success so when i needed more heaters for a couple of 90 gallon tanks, I was so happy with these, I ordered more from Aqua Cave. Just an FYI, these heaters do need to be mounted in tank horizontally.
