Great product with few shortcomings
I use them on both of my tanks with canister filters, rinse them out weekly and it takes most of the cleaning load off the canister. My one complaint is that it does lower water flow a bit. I gave up using them with small HOB filters. It's less of a problem with a canister with enough flow for your tank.

Worked perfect
I used the model 3 with an Aquaclear 70 (will also work on the Aquaclear 110) to protect the filter since I was using a fine sand and did not want it getting sucked up into the filter. With the included adapters the prefilter fit perfect and will protect the filter for a long time to come. It is a very well made product and looks like a well made sponge that should also last a long time. Great product!

Excellent product!
I have been using these on all my tanks for years. They extend the cleaning time between filter clean outs AND they add biological filter area to your system. This more coarse model works well with bigger tanks that have heavy animal loads. It won’t clog so quickly.

Awesome product, even better service
Aqua Cave: Just want to say thank you. One of the elbows that came with the prefilter was broken. I sent Aqua Cave a message and without question, they sent a new elbow. I will continue to order from Aqua Cave for that reason alone. Not often you find a smaller company with that type of service. Not to mention, you won't find the filter max III cheaper any where else.<br><br>Filter Max 3: I ordered another one yesterday. That should say it all. I use the one I have on my Aqua Clear 70 and it fits perfectly. I have had it on the Aqua Clear for just about a month and still have no need to clean the Aqua Clear filter media. Just rinse the Filter Max 3 sponge when I do water changes. Has not restricted flow at all. I would have given five stars, but the plastic of the connectors is kind of brittle. The second one will be used on my new Fluval C4. <br><br>Again, you can't go wrong buying products on this site and the Filter Max III is great.<br><br>Thanks, Rob

Retrofit to Aqueon Quiet Flow 30 HOB
Product is working fine. Happy with purchase. Note that the adapters that come with the prefilter dis not match up with Aqueon. I had to shave back the intake tube of the Aqueon to make it fit.
