    Salt probe

Garbage product. The sensor was 2-3 PPT off from the actual water. I purchased the calibration solution and now the sensor reads 5 PPT off.

    junk no support

Posted by JEREMY on Mar 31st 2023

This unit is junk. I bought my Apex and took a while to rebuild my tank and set it up. when I first set it up the numbers would jump from the teens to the 40s. I thought it was micro bubbles. moved it and the swings were less. Then bam reading of 4.3. cleaned it 4.3. I set up a call with Apex. He ran me through some things its broken. Less than 90 days after I set my account up and placed my unit in service it was dead. Apex can look at your unit and see when it was first used it gives them the date. What am I told the warranty is from the purchase date. We will offer you 10% off of a new one that costs $198 that just broke with less than 90 days worth of use. I understand that a company needs to make money and people scam. But to fault back on purchase date, when you have access to the in service date at your finger tips, is not standing by your product. Maybe this is why its not included in the new units.

Mostly useless, a known weak product

Don't take my word for it, search the forums, including Neptune's own, and all you'll see is complaint after complaint about the conductivity probe. I love my Apex, but this thing is junk, and mine actually worked for a short while. It's hard to understand, because conductivity probes are pretty simple devices, but Neptune dropped the ball on this one. I won't be replacing mine with a Neptune product, most assuredly not at the price they're asking.

    Pretty much garbage

Posted by Jamie A. on Feb 5th 2019

Don't take my word for it, look at the forums, including Neptune's own. What you'll find is complaint after complaint about not being able to calibrate the probe, it not holding calibration, or like in my case working perfectly for a little while and then one day not. A conductivity probe is a really simple device, there should not be this much trouble. It's not cheap either, I very much doubt many people replace theirs when they stop working, if they ever get them working in the first place. I really like my apex, and hope they get their act together on this. I know there are some workarounds like calibrating in the tank, but I'd like this just to work like it's supposed to, it doesn't inspire much confidence.

    Stopped working

Posted by Jason on Dec 5th 2016

Stopped working after about a year or so. Attempted to recal, but it didn't hold for long. Most of the time, shows 0. Not recommeded and I consider it an expensive mistake.
