Excellent low cost controller system!!!!
The XS is a phenomenal budget controller system that does exactly what I envisioned a controller to do minus the insanely high costs of some other systems out there. I chose the XS because I have other ways of monitoring pH, and have individual controllers on my pumps and gyres, so I really only wanted the sense ports. This little controller is delivered in big ways. Using the included temp probe and wifi strip, I set this up to monitor my Temps and send alerts as well as disable the power if the heaters are malfunctioning and cooking the tank. In addition, I used the (purchased separately) water level sensor to detect if my auto water change system and/or auto top-off pumps are malfunctioning and overflowing my sump. If this sensor detects high water, it kills the power to the water change/ATO outlets hopefully preventing a flood. My next purchase will be for the protein skimmer cup level detector to alert me when it's full and needs emptying. I knocked one star because this system has poor compatibility with wifi mesh networks and my house is run by an Eero network. To get around this issue, I hard-wired an old router to the Eero hub and connected the Hydros to that. Worked great, but might be problematic if you're not tech-savvy.
