The Aqua Clear 70 provides biological, chemical and mechanical filtration and was designed for easy and convenient maintenance. Filter media which comes with the filter for your first time use, replaces easily in a convenient filter basket, that holds your media in place. The included foam filter insert is effective for mechanical and biological filtration and has large surface area for debris and waste retention. The insert may be rinsed and reused, or replaced when needed. Pre-measured Activated Carbon Inserts elimate hassle, just rinse and drop in.
The premium research quality of the carbon removes organic compounds, chlorine, odors and much more.
For new aquarium set ups or old, the Ammonia Remover (purchased seperately) removes and controls toxic ammonia, keeping your fish healthy and happy.

Trustworthy
I own five of this size aquaclear 70 or old style 300, they all work fantastically for all applications, simple design that works, no reason to change it, I love them.

Best Filter
Started freshwater aquariums again after retiring. I have used Hagen Aquaclear 70's (3) and 110's (4) from the beginning on all my tanks. I have not had any complications or problems with any of the filters. They keep the tanks clean and clear. I can use any filter media that I need. Unlike other filters are required to use specific media. Will continue to purchase more for future aquariums. Would recommend.

Utilized for QT
Nice filter to utilize with QT. Placed filter media in the DT sump, then transferred to QT. Light on power for a 29 gallon QT. Would purchase the 110 model if I had the chance to do it again.

We have this model filter and so far it works great. I like that there's room in them to add your own media and carbon. Not very noisy either

Spend a bit more and buy this one, it lasts
These have a long lifespan and it is one of the cheapest filters to run due to the fact the sponge and bio-media can be rinsed with tank water and reused. No costly 'cartridge' to replace! The AquaClears are a bit more money up front but they just last and are worth it.
