CPR's AquaFuge 2 hang-on refugiums come in three different sizes to meet the needs of marine aquarists.
Each model comes with its own powerhead and features a unique baffle system that prevents the substrate and organisms from being disturbed yet also allows enough water to flow through the eliminate any stagnant areas.
The AquaFuge provides ideal growth conditions for food items, such as copepods and ampipods, to feed invertebrates and fish in the main tank.
It provides a controlled growing area for macroalgae, which can be used to reduce "nuisance" algae in the main tank and provided a "nursery" area for a variety of organisms.

My experience with the CPR Aquatic Refugium, Small with LED Light Fixture
The Refugium was easy to set up and is working well. I'm running the light at night so I decided to cover the Refugium with black plastic sheets. Otherwise, the residual light lit up my main tank. I also used some plastic sheets to form a cover over the Refugium to prevent too much evaporation. I bought a Refugium starter kit. The kit contained a substrate, Chaeto algae, copepods and phytoplankton

Great Refugium
I have this little refugium on the back of my 29 gal marine tank. It is the perfect size. The light does not pour over into the tank. The refugium is excellently designed to allow a gentle flow for a surviving copepod population. The machine is quiet and discrete.<br>Only issue: as far as I am aware, it has to be mounted on the corner of a tank so the pump has a place to suction and line up with the refugium intake.<br>I would recommend to anyone setting up a new tank to buy the CaribSea rubble zone and put that in the refugium. I also would recommend buying some clean Cheato (cheatomorpha) algae and a starting population of copepods and you'll be all set to go.
