The ARF-M G2 removes the need for filter socks. Water is fed into the internal chamber via the aquarium systems drain, and through the filter roll. When the water level rises in the chamber due to filter clogging the water level switch triggers the motor to wind on the filter roll to a new fresh piece. The water level will then drop repeating the process

Bubble Magus filter roller med. gen2
It’s well made and easy to assemble, it took me about 30 minutes. I made a stand out of egg crate for it to sit on at the right height ( my sump has a 1” rim around the top so I wasn’t able hang it on the side)and plumb it to the overflow , plugged it in and it’s been working great and have had no issues. I would highly recommend this filter roller.
