AquaEl UltraMax 2000 Canister Filter
The AquaEl UltraMax 2000 Professional Canister Filter is a technologically advanced canister filter whose design is based on patented solutions that guarantee exceptional comfort of use, perfect water clarity, and optimum water parameters even in the most demanding aquariums. The UltraMax features a high flow rate, ball valves on the inlet/outlet, adjustable flow control, low energy usage, and a large area for filter media.
Our favorite feature is the large sponge pre-filter built into the lid, which is designed to capture course mechanical impurities before they can get inside the filter. This protects the pre-filter from clogging, which reduces the required frequency of cleaning to a minimum. Washing the pre-filter sponge in tap water only takes a few minutes and does not require disconnecting the filter from the power supply or taking it out of the aquarium stand.

Excellent filter
I recently purchased the Aquael Ultramax 2000 from Aquacave after watching a YouTube video by the pond guru. He really loved this filter and I decided to give it a try. It's a beast. It holds a crazy amount of media. I have 1 tray of sponge and poly-fil and the other 4 trays of biohome ultimate. It holds between 15 to 16 pounds of media. The canister itself holds between 6 and 7 gallons of water which is more than a fluval fx6. It's flow is as good or better than the fx6 but nowhere near the price. The easy accessible pre filter makes maintenance a breeze. This filter is a steal for the price. The only bad part is the suction cups don't hold the tubing in place very good. Other than that this filter hands down is better than any of my other canister filters on my other tanks. I have a Fluval FX4, a couple of Fluval 407's, a Fluval 307, and a Sicce Whale 500. The Ultramax is the best. My son and I were so impressed I ordered a 2nd unit for his new tank he set up in his bedroom. If you are thinking about trying this I highly recommend you watch the pimp my filter video on the Ultramax 2000 and then decide for yourself.
