Flexible adaptation
The ball-type design is an intelligent solution for installation with a minimum of hydraulic losses. Contrary to other pumps, they offer a lot of flexibility with respect to positioning and orientation of the water beam, which can be adjusted in such a way that an effective flow is produced over a long distance in the aquarium at lower power consumption.

Tunze = Reef tank
Tunze streams are top-of-the-line pumps for high-flow reef tanks; thus, 6125 is no exception. It moves a lot of water for very few watts. I added it to 3x6100, and one 6200 older model steams in a 300-gallon DD tank set up for four years. I've got it set up as a backup water movement device by plugging it into a UPS, giving about 90 minutes of flow during a power outage.

Fantastic pump
This is a great pump. I am using it on a 400 gal 10’ long reef tank, which will move some water. The pump is so strong that it would not stay in place on 1/2” acrylic, so I had to buy the larger magnet. I plan on purchasing at least two more.

For continuous use only. Tunze will not replace or upgrade.
I bought two of the Tunze Stream 6125s. I ran them for one day/10 hours and they started making loud grinding noise. I called Tunze and they said these pumps are not made to cycle on and off and the best they would do is send me replacement impellers even when I offered to upgrade to a DC pump. Very disappointed in Tunze. Been a big fan of their products and service for a very long time. Regardless of the pump design and use, I'm not a happy customer and they should've had taken the opportunity to change that. They didn't. Won't be buying Tunze any more.
