Maxspect Phosphree 500 ml.
A polymer phosphate removal resin that is chemically stable and will not leak any metal ions into the water column like metal-based absorbents. Available in 250ml and 500ml sizes.
Slow absorption phosphate removal resin that will not discolor the Water
Maxspect Nano-Tech Phosphree is a polymer resin that is chemically stable and will not leak any metal ions into the water column like commonly used metal-based absorbents. The slow absorption rate of Phosphree reduces stress by acclimating the aquarium inhabitants to the reduction of phosphate in the water column.
500ml / 17 fl oz
500 ml (17 fl oz) of Maxspect Phosphree will remove up to 3 ppm of phosphate from a 2000 liters (528 gallons) marine/reef aquarium.
The Phosphate Absorption Rate Test
The Phosphate Absorption Rate Test was performed in a controlled environment with three aquariums with 100L of seawater container 1.0ppm (±0.03) of phosphate. Tricalcium Phosphate was added to the water to achieve an equal phosphate level of 1.0ppm. A Hanna HI97713 Phosphate Low-Range Portable Photometer was used to test phosphate levels within the three test aquariums.
Tank A: 100L of seawater with 60ml of Iron-Based Absorbent
Tank B: 100L of seawater with 60ml of Aluminum-Based Absorbent
Tank C: 100L of seawater with 60ml of Nano-Tech Phosphree
60ml of each phosphate absorbent media was placed within a fine mesh bag, with medium water flow provided by a Gyre pump. Thee water samples of each of the three testing tanks were collected every 24hours for a duration of 8 days.
