PURPLE-UP Coraline Algae Accelerator by CaribSea, 16 oz.

NOT A FERTILIZER: Purple Up™ encourages the growth of desirable pink and purple coralline algaes not nuisance algaes not nuisance algaes.

UNIQUE DUAL METHOD APPROACH TO CORALLINE ALGAE ACCELERATION:
IONIC CALCIUM: Immediately raises dissolved calcium levels in your aquarium water. 10 MICRON ARAGONITE: Targets the live rock surface, where it dissolves in situ, delivering calcium, strontium, magnesium, and carbonate right where it's needed.
IODINE REPLENISHMENT: Purple Up™ also replenishes iodine, an essential element for coralline algae tissues that becomes quickly depleted in closed systems.

EASY TO USE: One bottle of Purple Up™ repaces the typical multi product recipe for successful coralline algae growth favored by advanced aquarists.

CONTAINS SUPER SEA CALCIUM™: Natural calcium derived from pristine, tropical oceans.

Must have coralline already in tank

Posted by STEPH on Aug 27th 2018

This additive simply increases the likelihood that Coralline algae will grow/spread by increasing calcium and iodine in the water. It does not contain any Coralline pieces, unlike the new product on the market that does. I am giving this a shot but it is too soon to know if it will work.

good product. i used it previously for corraline and saw results. you need to dose it at night though because it fogs your water for a few minutes

    Definitely up's your purple

I started using this product due to a recommendation I received at a local fish store after seeing just how coralline encrusted his rocks were. I ended up purchasing it and using it on my own tank with great results. Would definitely recommend to someone who needs a boost.

This product stimulates the growth of Coraline algae via ionic calcium balance. Very Recommended!

I've used other brands, but this is the one that works the best. Will only use Caribsea.

    Be very, very careful!

Ive used Purple Up in the past but not for the last two years. I also had two Sea Hares that Ive had in my tank for over a year. They were algae tigers. After the second dosing of Purple Up, the next morning one of my Hares was dead. I then dosed again and the very next morning my other Hare was dead. Hum?
You do the math.
The guys at Caribsea told me that mollusks cant take high calcium levels and that the first two doses caused a calcium spike too high for the Hares to handle.
Caribsea did offer to replace my hares.
Just be careful with your dosing method. Maybe drip?
Purple up does a great job for your coraline algae.
